Assassin's Warcraft

I finally got around to try and do all the quests in Suramar, of which there are a lot. I liked the quests that take place further into the city, where the game gets a sort of Assassin's Creed feel: I sneak around, trying to avoid detection, and I climb up buildings (although only at specific grapple points, WoW doesn't have real climbing).

Unfortunately after one afternoon of having fun in Suramar, the fun suddenly stopped very abruptly: The next two quests in the series require me to kill specific mobs in specific dungeons. On mythic difficulty!!! Which means no LFG functionality. Hey, Blizzard, if I had a large group of friends to do mythic dungeons and raids with, I wouldn't be doing your quest content! It really annoys me that Blizzard can't keep their content separated, but must always try to force people into content they don't want to play.

Apparently there is a workaround to still get the Good Suramaritan achievement, which at some point in time will be needed for flying. But that workaround required exalted reputation, which as I have run out of quests requires grinding world quests for a long time. And then I still need to do a raid, although I can wait until that raid is available in LFR mode. So right now the story line of how the resistance movement in Suramar is faring is closed to me. Which at least brings me to the point where I can see the end of Legion, with every content available to me done. I had hoped Legion would last longer than that.

Comments:
Luckily the mythic dungeon quests are side quests and have nothing to do with Good Suramaritan.

But yes, Good Suramaritan does require Exalted with the Nightfallen, the various quest chains are spaced out along the way and the final one isn't offered until you're Exalted.

Also, there's no waiting for the raid, the one raid step of the chain is in the Emerald Nightmare and can be done in LFR right now. No Nighthold stuff in Good Suramaritan. I completed it a couple of weeks ago and I don't do anything beyond LFR / queueable dungeons these days.

If I remember correctly, the MM dungeon quests are the final step in the quest chain which unlocks them, it's not part of the main questline.
As for the reputation, the quests themselves are not enough, you need to grind it via world quests, but as soon as you learn which are the annoying ones you can just skip them and do the others......

I unsubbed at the end of October for the same reason. I wish I could enjoy Legion for a longer periodo but I found myself grinding rep and world quests hoping for a legendary... Until I got bored. But I had a lot of fun, Legion is amazing and well worth the price.

7.2 is going to introduce a Heroic difficulty for these dungeons. Doesn't help you today, but sharing in case you weren't aware.

The group finder tool is really good, worth trying out by creating your own group. You can filter people on ilevel and is only marginally harder than LFD.

Group Finder is a useful tool (addon LFRAdvanced makes it even better) to find groups, but Tobold has opted out of organized group content. It's just the way he rolls today ;) And I understand that, mythic dungeons aren't that hard but can be progressy when you make your own group of kinda inexperienced players. Can be fun, can be frustrating.

Regarding exalted Nightfallen: do the withered scenarios. They are fun after a couple visits when you upgrade your army a bit. But require farming ancient mana so I don't do them very often. I hate farming.

Also get the treasure map and search for all the hidden treasures in Suramar.

But require farming ancient mana so I don't do them very often. I hate farming.

For ancient mana that depends very much on *where* you farm. Outside Suramar city, collecting the shards and chunks is a bore and getting 10 or 20 ancient mana if you need 2,000 takes forever. Inside the city you can collect bottles of twice-fortified arcwine which give you around 150 ancient mana each. Much faster, and with the climbing and evading actually not so boring.

While I perfectly understand your pain, Mythic runs aren't hard at all. I did all of them back in October with randoms, using the LFG>Custom tool. It always worked well. Now that everyone is 850+ they are a cakewalk, give it a try.

The good news is that I could get Statecraft and A Growing Crisis done without doing mythic dungeons, it needed 8K out of 21k reputation and a LFR visit to the final part of the Emerald Dream raid. Bad news is that the next quest series requires 20k out of 21k.

By the way, I walked to the entrance of the Arcway and looked in the custom group finder for people who wanted to do mythic. But no takers, on an early Saturday evening. But as I don't need it to continue quests, I won't try again.

This is the basic flaw with Mythics. YOU have to be selected by a group. If it's YOU and a half dozen 860+ iLevel players, who gets chosen? The only real way to game this is to be a healer or tank. Sure, if your life is to grind iLevel in WoW, you'll have the iLevels. Then it's "easy" to start your own group.

Oh. Let me clarify that before I get the butthurt comments: "This is be basic flaw of a Mythic ONLY dungeon strategy."

Back in MoP you could put yourself into the dungeon tool as a seeking player, raid leaders for world bosses would then go through the list and invite people. This should be implemented again.

Mythic dungeons aren't that hard, easier than TBC heroic dungeons I'd say. My tank outgears these dungeons by now and if you would like I could take you on an Arcway or Court of Stars run.

"But as I don't need it to continue quests, I won't try again."

One of the quests you get at 20k reputation DOES also require you to go into the Arcway, so you can just wait until you pick that one up and do both at the same time. It only took me about 10 minutes to find a group, even as DPS. Just keep refreshing and applying to every group that already has either a tank or healer but doesn't have 3 DPS already, eventually one will take you.

> The only real way to game this is to be a healer or tank.

I beg to differ: when you can't get an invite just start your own group and it will fill in few minutes. I am a Hunter and I've never had problems with Mythics, not even when I was iLevel 831 in October. I ran all of them with other randoms and it wasn't hard at all apart a very few selected bosses which could be a little more challenging.

With iLevel 850+ they're as easy as any Heroic, really.

As someone who more or less only does the dailies required for the emissary cache, the Nightfallen rep was the first one I go to exalted, closely followed by Highmountain. My slowest two are the Wardens and, in last by quite a distance, Valarjar.
I do hate the withered training. That takes far too long to complete.

No need to panic. Keep cool and do your locals - at least ones giving artifact power.

Arcway and Court quests are optional, you will continue your Suramaritan progress as soon as you have requisite reputation. Withered army quest is always renewed every 2 days and gives 425 reputation for non-humans in addition to the chance for toys and fox mount. Ancient mana-giving items can be bought on AH, cheaply.

You will need to kill Xavious in LFR at one point to continue the quest line. If you collect pets, one of them is available for taming exclusively in the raid after you kill Xavious.

Also, reaching exalted gives you 850 shoulder item of your class set.

@Smokeman, 860+ geared people do NOT do regular mythics (aside Karazhan), because they do not need ilvl 840 items. So no, they won't affect Tobold's chances to get into Arcway and Court of Stars.

@bryksom, in the present custom group finder you can simply subscribe to multiple groups that are available at once and accept the first invitation you get. This way you have some control over WHO can invite you. For example, I never subscribe to groups the description of which contains "scrubs need not apply" or similar notes. Saves me from meeting psychotic people.

Artifact power items, titanforged, chances for Legendaries. How do you think people got to 860? They ground instances.

I just like to point out that level 860+ people are likely doing Mythic+ dungeons at levels 6 and above. Or heroic raids. Not baseline Mythic dungeons, that's pointless for them.

And for almost everybody else - because local quests in 7.1 give the same ilvl 840 AND ilvl 845 items as baseline Mythics, with significantly lesser time investment and greater success chance.

Those two are just side quests to get attuned for those mythics; the attunement is now account wide.

I have Good Sumaritan and PathFinder part I; It took running 3 or 4 normal dungeons once and one LFR boss. I did zero Heroics, Mythics or Mythic+s. My iLevel is 861 with two legendaries.

@souldrinker Sure, we do M6+. We also do Mythics, and we also do Heroics on occasion. Why? because some trinkets (and the occasional other item) are worth it regardless of ilvl, and you want all the chances you can get when you only get 1 mythic a week. You're m6+ friends aren;t always on, and sometimes you also just want to do something mindless.

I've had no trouble getting M groups as a dps or a tank. People are still doing the content -- all of the content -- because it'ss till relevant. I had a Shaman in my Heroic group last night (on my al) pulling 600k-1m dps.
